At times when the Ticket Office is closed passengers from Chesterfield or beyond must travel on to Nottingham Station and return to Alfreton in order to access Platform 1 to exit the station. Passengers from Alfreton wishing to travel to Nottingham or beyond must travel to Chesterfield from Platform 1 and use the subway at Chesterfield to access the southbound Platform.
Crossing the track via the barrow crossing without the assistance of a competent member of railway staff is a trespass offence and will be subject to possible prosecution by the British Transport Police. | |
