Ammanford Railway Station

Ammanford railway station, serves the town of Ammanford, South Wales. The station was opened as Duffryn in 1841 as a temporary terminus of the Llanelly Railway line to Llandeilo and the branch to Crosshands making it one of the earliest railway stations. The station became Tirydail in 1889 and after the closure of the main Ammanford station in 1958 it was renamed Ammanford in 1960. The station is 39 km (24½ miles) north of Swansea on the Heart of Wales Line.

The railway station is located at street level near the centre of the town at Station Road. As with most of the stations on the Heart of Wales Line the original rather elegant station buildings and signal box were levelled and replaced with a modern shelter.

Services

All trains serving the station are operated by Arriva Trains Wales. There are four trains a day in each direction from Monday to Saturday, and two services on Sundays.
