Tilbury Town Railway Station

Tilbury Town railway station is a railway station located in the town of Tilbury in the borough and unitary authority of Thurrock in the East of England.

It was opened on 15 June 1885 as part of the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway. The station was originally called Tilbury Dock but was renamed to Tilbury Town in December 1934. Passenger train services are provided by c2c.

The station is on the railway linking Pitsea and Barking via Grays and Rainham known as the Tilbury Loop. A bus link is also provided here for the Gravesend Ferry, replacing the rail link to Tilbury Riverside which was closed in 1993.

Typical off-peak service consists of:

  • 2 tph (trains per hour) to London Fenchurch Street
  • 2 tph to Southend Central.
